Echoes of Trauma: A Journey Through Resilience in Metro Atlanta is a powerful documentary project initiated by Chelsey Thompson, a dedicated educator passionate about supporting her students and community. Inspired by the daily struggles and strength of families and educators in Metro Atlanta, Chelsey is creating a documentary that follows four families that aims to raise awareness, foster empathy, and stimulate dialogue about the support systems needed to address trauma and its effects on education and family life.

Metro Atlanta is a diverse and rapidly growing region with a broad range of socioeconomic backgrounds. Many families and educators in this area are grappling with the effects of trauma, which can stem from violence, economic hardship, natural disasters, and systemic inequalities. Understanding how trauma affects children and their support systems is crucial for developing effective interventions and support structures.
